About Pivot Risk

A firm built to say the hard part out loud

We were started on a simple frustration: too much risk advice tells clients what they want to hear. Pivot Risk exists to tell you what your risk actually looks like — then help you decide what to do about it.

Our approach

Every engagement starts with the same question: what happens if this goes wrong, and can the organization actually survive it? We build our recommendations backward from that answer, not forward from a template.

We work in Nepal, for Nepal. That means accounting for seismic exposure, monsoon disruption, currency movement, and a regulatory environment that shifts faster than most risk frameworks assume. Generic playbooks don't hold up here — so we don't use them.

How we work

Short, focused engagements rather than open-ended retainers. We aim to leave you with a clear picture and a usable plan, not a dependency on us.

Every assessment is delivered with a plain-language summary for leadership alongside the technical detail your risk or compliance team will need to act on it.

Principles

What guides an engagement

Independence

We don't sell insurance or take commissions on the products we recommend. Our advice isn't shaped by what we'd earn from it.

Specificity

No boilerplate risk registers. Every recommendation is tied to something true about your operations, your sector, or your location.

Plain language

A risk report that only a risk officer can read is a report that won't change how decisions get made. We write for the people who'll act on it.

Where we work

Based in Lalitpur, working across Nepal

Our office sits in Kupandole, close to the institutions and regulators we work alongside most often. Client engagements take us across the Kathmandu Valley and into the districts where our clients actually operate — from branch networks and warehouses to construction sites and field offices.
